Young Couple to Live in Wil-
liamsburf^, Va., After Trip to
Nassau
Miss Ruth Camei’on, daughter of
Mrs. Lucy Cameron of Southern
Pines was married last Saturday af
ternoon, June 15, at 5:00 o’clock to
Washington Reed. Jr., of Williams
burg, Va., on the terrace of the South,
tm Pines Country Club. Mr. Reed Is
the son of Mr and Mrs Washington
Reed. Sr, of Norfolk, Va. The Rev.
E. L. Barber officiated. The cere
mony took place before a background
fif long-leafed pine, English ivy and
fragrant white magnolia blossoms.
Only the immediate families a few
close friends In Southern Pines and
the following out of town guests
were present. An informal reception
followed when the bride and bridge-
groom leceived with Mrs. Cameron
end Mr. ano Mrs. Reed, Sr.
The bride was given In marriage
by her brother, Stuart Cameron. Mrs.
Stuart Cameron was matron of hon
or, and James L. Cogar, curator of
the Williamsburg Restoration, was
the best man.
The bride wore a large white pic
ture hat of imported Swiss straw
trimmed with white velvet ribbons |
and sreamers. Her gown was of '
white mist marquisette, tight fitting;
bodice embroidered in delicate scrolls,
bishop sleeves and bouffant skirt. An
arm bouquet of white orchids shower
ed with valley lilies which she car
ried, completed a picture of charm
nnd loveliness.
Mrs. Stuart Cameron, the matron
of honor, wore a gown of dusty pink
marquisette with periwinkle sash and
garden hat of natural leghorn, and
carried an old fashioned bouquet.
Mrs. Lucy Cameron, mother of the
bride wore a grey dress with a shoul
der corsage of orchids and hat to
match. Mrs. Reed, mother of the
groom, wore a silver crepe dress with
a corsage of orchids.
The bride has recently been asso
ciated with the Research and Rec-
o»d Department of Colonial Williams
burg. The groom is connected with
the architectural department of the
Williamsburg Restoration.
Directly after the reception the
couple left for Na.ssau and upon their
return will live in Williamsburg.

be the offering brought by the mem
bers and friends of the church for
the completion of the interior of the
audtiorium. The people of Southern
Pines are invited to share in this as
well as the other parts of the pro
gram.
There will be a picnic In the grovt
of long-leaf pines at the close of the
scrvice. This service will become a*
I nnual event in the life of the ctiurch.
The public is invited to bring a bas
ket lunch and enjoy this prograu
with the congregation.
