12, and 13 at which time the Scouts
will be guests of the University and

company Scouts going to the State
Fair. Plans were also made to enter
tain the men of the Community
Church at the Tufts Cabin at Eagle
Springs next Monday evening. The
Tenderfoot Class met with Mr. Wil
son Tuesday afternoon and worked on
their second class requirements.

sonnel effective Octobcr 1st. The in-

of a private automatically jumps
from $21.00 to $30.00 per month after
complqlion of four months service and

the authorized total .strength of the

tributed among units of the Fleet
Marine Force, the Marine Air Force,

In computing the number of men to
be drafted from North Carolina, this
state will be credited with the number
of men who have voluntarily enlist
ed. For this reason it is figured that
this state will have the least number
of men per capita to be drafted.
Applicants for enlistment must be
white, single, 18 to 30 years of age,
64 to 74 inches In height, be of good
moral character, in excellent physi
cal condition, without any depend
ents and have the equivalent of an
eighth grade education or better. Men
over 25 years of age must possess
some special qualification.
