Miss Merriam ' joined Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Weston of Sharon, Mass., and Miss Elizabeth Lincoln of Leominster, Mass., who were overnight guests on Monday at the Jefferson Inn. Jr., have as their guests for a week Mr. and Mrs. Door Newton of Phil adelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Paul Bigler of New York City, Mr. and Mrs. New ton are enroute to Cuba for an ex. tended stay. Mr. and Mrs. Randolph entertained at tea for their guests, on W'ednesday those present including Mr. and Mrs. Julian T. Bishop, Mr. and Mrs. Almet Jenks, Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. W’allach Jr.. Mrs. John K. Weeks and Mrs. William C. Mudgett. The Woman’s Missionary Society of the Baptist Church will meet Tues day, March 4, at 3:00 p. m. at the church. Mr.s. C. M. McManus, super intendent of the Woman’s Missionary Union of Sandy Creek Association, will speak. At an entertainment for the bene fit of the Moore County Hospital, given by Mrs. L. J. Barwood and at tended by her house guest and a number of officers from Fort Bragg, Mrs. J. Talbot Johnson of Aberdeen held the lucky number in the draw ing for an oil painting donated for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson C. Hyde were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar W. Burnett in Green.sboro. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wallach, Jr, spent last Saturday in Camden, S. C. The Junior Willing Workers will meet Monday evening.
