Blue as hostess. The program was in charge of Miss Jane Gibbs, who gave an in teresting talk on “Foods and how to prepare them.” The Woman's Club held its mon thly meeting at the Communily House Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. J. G. Farrell, president in charge. Af ter the usual business, the meetinp was turned over to the program committee, who presented the guest speaker, Mrs. Murray, of Raeford, the District Chairman, of Federation of Women’s Clubs who spoke inter estingly on club work in the district. Special guests included Mrs. Jack Taylor, president of the Sandhill’s Book Club, Mrs. E. L. Pleasants, president of the Walter Hines Page Book Club. Miss Alice Wilder was no.'^tess to her bridge club at her home on Tuesday afternoon. At the conclu sion of tlie game, delicious lonion pie was served. The Woman’s Society of Christian Service held its regular monthly meeting in the Ladies’ Parlor of Page Memorial Church on Monday afternon with a large number in at tendance. The program was given bjr the children of the “Around the World Club” and conducted by Mrs. Maxwell. A short business meeting followed the program. Mrs. Clifton Blue and small son, of Fayetteville, spent several days in town last week, visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W, A, Blue. Mrs. Loudermilk. mother of Mrs. W. H. Blue returned home last week from Moore County Hospital where she was a patient for several weeks. Miss Mary Page left Tuesday for Norfolk where she will visit rela tives. Miss Kathleen Rhyne arrived Wed nesday from Woman’s Colleee, Greensboro, and will be the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Rhyne for several days. Mrs. Lois Sharpe Baker, of Con- Hospital Auxiliary Membership at 234 Last Meeting oi Season Held at Pinehurst: Goal of $3,000 Approached The Moore County Hospital Aux iliary held its last meeting of tho season at the Hospital on Wedndcs- day morning. Miss Laura Kelsey an nounced that the organization this year has set a record in number of members, with 234 women enrolled. This is an increase of 54 over the 1941 membership. The treasurer, Mrs. M. G. Nichols, reported contributions of S2.st4t; re ceived to date, with the certainty that the goal of $3000 will be re.u’h- ed. The Auxiliary helps the Hospitjl in the purchase of linen, supplies, and equipment, as well as in many other ways, and the meeting heard interesting discussion of problems created by defense needs.
