VOLUME 24. NO. 6 /• Preparations Are Made for Launcl Fourth War Loan Drive Januai E- C- Stevens is County Chairman and Mrs. Hodg kins Heads Women's Work In. preparation for the 4th War Loan Drive, in which Moore Coun ty’s quota will be $532,000, a meet ing of county chairmen and chair women of District 7, which com prises seven counties, was held Wednesday at the Holly Inn, Pine- hurst, at the call of John McNair, District chairman, with State offi cers present to aid in giving out in formation and explaining the achievements which it is hoped to attain. E. C. Stevens, will again serve as Moore County chairman and Mrs. Norris L. Hodgkins is chairman of the Women’s Division. Moore County’s quota is $79,000 lower than that of the most recent drive. The State quota is $126,000,- 000 of which the “E” Bond quota is $44,000,000. The National quota is $14,000,000,000. Especial emphasis was placed on the sale of “E” bonds' and Moore County is asked to increase its “E” bond sales by 50 per cent over the $230,000 derived from this source in the 3rd Drive. While more indivi duals bought the smaller bonds in the third drive than in the second, it was the opinion that still not enough individuals were backing the effort, and in this drive it is hoped that every person who can buy even one $25 bond will feel that it is his duty and privilege to do»so. It was announced at the meeting that the Region made up of the 18 counties in Districts 7 and .8 had made the finest record in the Third War Loan Drive of any Region in the Stale over-subscribing its quilta by 130 per cent.
