Jernigan, aviation ordnanceman l|c, U. S. N., of Aberdeen, has returned from a tour of duty in the Pacific where he served as a gunner in the Navy’s Patrol Bombing Squad ron Eleven (VPB-11). His squadron, which flew the famous CATALINA flying boats, specialized in “black catting”, which is lovv-level bombing, straf ing, and torpedoing in the dead of night.
