B; Trousdell Samuel Newman Boyce of Gas tonia announces the marriage of his daughter, Mrs. Lucy Boyce Welch of Charlotte, to Kenneth Bruce Trousdell of Southern Pines. The vows were spoken early Sunday afternoon, Novem ber 18, in Emmanuel Episcopal church Southern Pines, in the presence of members of the fam ilies of the bride and groom, who were attended by Mr- and Mrs. J. Coburn Musser of Pinehurst and Mrs. Martha Page Blackmore of Aberdeen. Mr. and Mrs. Trousdell are at present in New York City and will return later to Southern Pines where they will make their home. Edith Matthews to Wed In Early December Mr. and Mrs. W. Duncan Mat thews announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Edith, to Lieutenant (j. g.) William Harry Fullenwider, USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs- W. D. Fulleinwider of Monroe- Plans are being made by Miss Matthews for the wedding which will take place Sunday afternoon, December 2, in the Church of Wide Fellowship, Southern Pines- Attend Luncheon For Pinedodgers The Pinedodgers, woman’s golfing group of Southern Pines, and their guests met for the first luncheon of the 1945-46 season at the Country Club Wednesday, No vember 14. A Kicker’s Handicap tourna ment was scheduled by the Pine dodgers for Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 21, following the regular weekly luncheon served at twel ve fifteen at the Country Club. Dinner Party On Birthday Myra Ellen Scott Recent Bride Announcement is made, by Mr. and Mrs. Alton Scott of Golds boro of the marriage of their daughter, Myra Ellen, to Joseph Herman Boes on Thursday, No vember 15, in Goldsboro. Mr. Boes is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Boes, Toledo, Ohio, and has lately received his discharge from the Army. He served iii overseas duty in Italy for the past year as a first lieutenant. Mrs. Boes, who with her family recently moved to Goldsboro, is a popuplar member of the younger set in Southern Pines where she has spent most of her life, and is a graduate of Southern Pines High School. On the evening of her birth day, Friday, Nov. 16, Mrs. West- cott Clinton entertained with a dinner party at Magnolia Lodge with Mrs. Fritz Morrill, Mrs. C- F. Harmon, Mrs. Harold B. Thistle Bridge Club To Start Again Mrs. J. J. Spring, president of the Thistle Club, announces that the former Saturday afternoon bridge games, discontinued for the last two years because of gas rationing, will be resumed this season starting early in December. The exact date will be named la ter, and games will be played at the Country Club. Annual Turkey Dinner The Woman’s Group Two of the Church of Wide Fellowship announce plans for the annual turkey dinner to be held Tuesday night, Nov. 27, at six o’clock in the church Sunday School room. Nichols and daughter Susan, left Tuesday to return to their home in Cleveland, Ohio, after visiting Mr. and Mrs. P. T. Kelsey and Miss Laura Kel sey for several days. Miss Winifred and Miss Hazel Kelley made a flying trip from Havana recently for a short visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Kelley. Sgt. and Mrs. Marvin Ray came from Fayetteville Saturday to spend the week-end with Mrs. Ray’s parents, Mr, and Mrs. D. Wade Stevick, Ridge Street. Mrs. Robert Hoke Pollock re armed Saturday from Fayette ville where she had been visiting her sister, Mrs. Sam Hutaff, and family. She was accompanied by her young niece, Anne, who stay ed here for a two days’ visit with her grandparents. Col. and Mrs. O. A. Dickinson. Mrs. F. E. Beck of Buffalo, N. Y., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Thomas A. Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Leon MqCutheon and Mrs. Inez Burnham of Stewe, Vt., were the guests of Mrs. Howard McNeill recently. Daniel Boyd, son of Mrs. James Boyd, and Alec Boyd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Boyd, have re turned to Princeton University to resume their studies there. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Mills, Pine-Dene, were Mr. and Mrs- Fred Flin- chum of Carthage, who visited them last week, and Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Stewart and children, Tommy and Bobby, also of Car thage, who visited them Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Camerson and daughter, Linda Sue, of Knoxville, Tenn., visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Bruce Cameron, in Manly recently. Mrs. Henry W. Dorn arid daughter, Louise, have returned from several weeks’ stay at Miami Beach. Capt. and Mrs. Baker Austin, of Fort Bragg, were the guests of Mrs. Q. If. Austin/, Morganton Road, Sunday. While formerly stationed at Camp Macall, Capt. and Mrs. Austin were residents of Southern Pines. Mrs. Frank G- Hatfield and daughter, Miss Mildred arrived last week from Bradford, Pa., and will be at their home on Morgan ton Road for the winter months. They were accompanied by Mrs. McDowell, also of Bradford, who spent the week-end with them. Mrs. Carl Thompson and dau ghter and granddaughter, Mrs. Shirley Wynne and Penny Fuller, have leased a cottage in Anna Ma ria, Fla., where they will vaca tion during the winter months.
