Meet West End Tonight
The West End—Southern Pines
clash scheduled originally for last
Friday, later postponed because
of bad weather, will be played on
the local gymnasium floor to
night, Friday 25, Coach A. C.
Dawson announced earlier this
week. With West End’s having
nosed out the Blue and White ifi
a close game for the county cham
pionship last year, keen interest
among students and a friendly
spirit of rivalry have been evi
denced during the week building
up to the game tonight.
It is hoped that the defeat of
Coach Dawson’s squad at the
hands of Pinehurst recently will
settle the home team in its tiest
form for the West End encoun
ter. Tonight’s game is the one
clash of the year which no dyed-
in-the-wool supporter plans to
miss, and a large turn-out is an
ticipated.

War Fund Success

to make this di-ive a success. The
county has shown a very fine
spirit in all of the campaigns and
especially in this one, since it
was made since "V-J Day. I am
sure that these funds will help
those soldiers who have not yet
returned and the other very
worthy causes of this United War
Fund.
“I feel very proud of Moore
County and the part it played in
this campaign.”
