G- Walker and Martin (Continued on Page 8) Industry Chiefs To Collaborate Here On Postwar Snags As the 11th annual convention of the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association gets under way today, May 12, with Pine- hurst’s spacious Carolina Hotel as a background, more than 600 au tomobile dealers and their wives are expected to arrive for regis tration in the hotel lobby after 2;00 o’clock this afternoon. The convention this year, meeting through May 12-14, will be the first held by the association since 1944. President of the State As sociation is W. H. Wray of Gas tonia. Ms. Bessie Ballentine of Raleigh, executive secretary of the Assoc iation, recently announced a num ber of additions to a full and var ied program including an add ress by Governor Gregg R. Cher ry on “A Highway Safety Pro gram for North Carolina.” A saf ety message will also be brought by Commissioner T. Boddie Ward of the State Motor Vehicles, whose topic will be “Motor Ve hicle Accidents.” The sessions will open this evening. May 12, with a get-to gether supper at which the prin cipal speaker will be Henry G. “Buck” Weaver of Detroit, Di rector of the General Motors consumer research staff. His top ic will be. “Is the Customer al ways Right?” The program for tomorrow. May 13, will include an address by W. L. Mallon of‘Newark, N.
