M. civilanS and officers It seems that those Hollywood Unions, who are striking against each other, are much more stub born than John L. Lewis, as they doubtless think the public can get along without their screen enter tainment, until they decide which of them should use a certain type of monkey wrench and which should not pick it up, re sulting in throwing it into the entire machinery to stop every thing, while the Producers can only stand idly by while they scrap it out. Consequently, the Carolina Theatres have had to choose be tween either closing or bringing back some worth-while pictures and the latter has been chosen. However, at the Pinehurst Theatre, Sunday Night, Decem ber 15th, and at the Carolina Theatre Southern Pines, Wednes day thru. Saturday, Dec. 18-21, one pre-release production has been secured in “Wake Up And Dream,” in Technicolor, starring June Havor and John Payne, with Charlotte Greenwood, Con nie Marshall and others in sup port. Based on Robert Nathan’s novel “The Enchanted Voyage” it is a delightful study of the faith of a small child—Connnie Marshall ■— interspersed with some hit tunes by June Haver and John Payne end seasoned with Clem Bevans’ eccentricities and Charlotte Greenwood’s sar casms providing laughs. iDunes Half way between Pinehurst and Southern Pines Phone 4604 for Reservations Ask for FRANCOIS INSURANCE REAL ESTATE J.
