Pineburst Faculty Completed Supt. Lewis Cannon has an nounced that the faculty of the Pinehurst schools has been com pleted with the filling of the home economics and math-science vacancies. Miss Irion McElderry of South ern Pines has been selected to fill the home economics vacancy. Miss McElderry is an honor graduate of Greensboro college and is at present attending sum mer school at tfie University of North Carolina. Miss Martha Epps of Latta, S. C., will' teach mathematics and science. She is a graduate of Lander college and has had two years of experience at McColl, S. C. Other new members of the fac ulty will be Miss Lillian Morris of 'Wilmington who will teach Latin and English. Miss Morris taught for the past few years in the Salisbury city schools. Miss Elizabeth Winget of Albemarle will serve as Librarian, ^he is a DEALERS Southern Pines graduate of Salem college and the University of North Carolina. Her previous experience was at Badin. William J. Gibson, outstand ing State college athlete, will teach industrial arts and coach athletics. Mr. Harbison re cently resigned as superinten dent of the Pinehurst schools to become business administrator for a Reidsville hospital. The cot tage which the Harbisons had under lease during tjjeir resi dence in Pinehurst is being re decorated ^r the elected superintendent, Lewis S. Cannon, who with Mrs. Cannon has leased Sandridge cottage until the Veno house is ready for occupancy. Mr. and Mrs. Verland Smith and her son Feltop Norirs of Charlotte were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gtithrie Smith. Felton remained ior a week longer; Mr. and Mrs. John Hemmer have returned from a^ month at Manteo. Mr. Hemmer was on ^ lengthy photography assignment on Roanoke Island, taking many pictures of “The Lost Colony”, and other interesting subjects' there. From Manteo he went to Morehead City to take more pic tures there. Mr. and Mrs. Santi Annino and their two daughters Sandra Lou and Judy of Long Island, N. Y., are spending a month as guests of Mrs. Annino’s brother, Lewis Cannon, and Mrs. Cannon. Robert Peck of White Flains arrived Sunday to spend two weeks vacation as guest of Miss Virginia Smith at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Guth rie Smith. Miss Smith and Mr. Peck left Monday to spend this week on a houseparty at Myrtle Beach, S.' C. Mr. and Mrs. James Carter of Charlotte were guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. M!cCas- kill. Mrs. W. B. Gouger left last week to visit her daughter, Mrs. Frank Morgan, and family in Roanoke, Va. , Mrs. J. I. O’Brien left Monday for a visit with relatives ' and friends in Boston and New Eng land. Ruggles has gone to Tecote, Calif., for a month’s study at Dr. Edmund Szekely’s sanita rium. Mrs. Vernon.
