NOTICE OF EXECUTRIX Having qualified as executrix under the Last Will and Testa ment of Emmet French, deceased, late of Moore County, North Car- plina, this is to notify all persons having claims against the estate of said deceased to exhibit them to the undersigned at Southern ;Pines, North Carolina, on or be fore the 11th day of July, 1948, •or this notice will be pleaded in bar of their recovery. AU persons indebted to said estate will please make immediate payment. V This 10th day of July 1947. CLARA LOUISE FRENCH, EX ECUTRIX UNDER THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF EMMET FRENCH, DECEASED. J11,A15 at $3,384,915, after taxes on net sales of $17,012,532, for the six months ending May 31. That is equivalent to $4.47 a share on the company's $5 par common stock. The $4.47 a share earning com pares with $1.29 a share for the same period in 1946. Colonials Mills stock was quot ed around $16 a share on the New York curb exchange last week. It enjoyed a recent raise of about $3 a share. On the old yardstick of 10 times earnings used in fixing values of stocks i n the more stable industries, the indicated gross income of Colonial Mills give its certificates a current worth far in excess of the quota tions. However, the textile bus! ness has heretofore been consid ered a “feast or famine” industry, which accounts for the low earn ings ratio. Colonials Mills, of which W. P. Saunders is -the executive vice- presideiit, is winning natior^l recognition in investment circles as one of the most substantial and better managed of the in tegrated textile industries that have recently sprung into exist ence. While Saunders declines to discuss the rriatter, it is locally believed that Coonials Mills plan a tremendous post war expans ion program which may benefit other Moore county localities be sides Robins. Announcement of the record- breaking six months earnings wiis accompariied by the declaratidh of the usual quarterly dividend of 21 cents per share. ' ’ OBITUARIES MRS. W. E.
