Youths Will Be Tried In Higher Court

The theft of three stopwatches
used in training fine trotters at
the Pinehurst track landed two
Negro youths in jail Mfonday, as

with larceny of the three watch
es, moderately valued at $150, and
David Locklee, 18, with aiding
and abetting. Bond of $250 was
set for each, which neither was
able immediately to make.
Pinehurst police testified that

from a trunk in his barn at the
track. They picked up Bobby
Crawford, who turned Out to have

other boys were arrested on sus
picion. The trail finally led to
Locklee, and with the recovery
of the other, two watches from a
burial place in the woods, both
admitted their guilt and the cir
cumstan?es of the theft.

damage at $71.23, Calloway his
at $27.52. Evidence was to the ef
fect that Maultsby had been
drinking, and broke the windows
of cars parked at his service sta
tion in a fit of anger.

She was a sister of Dr. Francis]
L. Owens of Pinehurst, chief of
staff of St. Joseph’s. Surviving
are two other brothers, who are ]
priests, and one sister.
Miss Owens was born at Cress

and Gertrude L. Owens.
