driving while drunk.
Pleading not guilty, and found
not guilty, were Thonell Mc
Laughlin, Wagram, carrying con
cealed weapon, assault with dead
ly weapon; George T. Robinson,
Wagfam, affray; Arthur Thomas,
Robbins, and Jim Wyatt and Hu
bert Stockwell, Camp Mackall, all
charged with driving while'
drunk.
Judgment was continued for
Ernest Brewer, of Robbins, RED,
found guilty of abandonment and
failure to provide for his wife and
child, on payment of costs, $10
weekly till further order and a
$34 doctor bill incurred by his
wife for herself and baby. Brewer
gave notice of appeal and bond
was set at $500.
Payments on a hospital bill
were reduced for Alexander Lock
lear, Pinehurst, so he could afford
to continue $10 weekly payments
fixed by the court for his wife
and child. However, the court or
dered that the hospital and med
ical bill should be paid up by Jan
uary 10.

gram was held at the Presbyte
rian church Sunday evening, un

the devotions, and Mrs. R. P.
Brown of Southern Pines intro
duced Miss Olivia Adams of the
West End School faculty, who
talked on her work among In
dians while teaching Bible in an
orphanage in Oklahoma, also of
her work with the mountain peo
ple while Bible teacher at Cross-
nore school in western North Car
olina.
At the conclusion of the meet
ing the group enjoyed supper at
the church.
