A. McLaugh lin of Lakeview from C. B. Fou- shee and E. L. Morgan of Sanford. Mr. McLaughlin, who took over management of the store last Fri day, said policies will continue as before, with some additions and improvements. Located for almost two years on the east 'side of Bread street, it moved to the larg er store and present prominent location in February 1949. M. M. (Roe) Bland, manager of the store since it opened, will re main through December, said Mr. McLaughlin. Assisting in the sales department will be Ray Schilling who lived in Southern Pines for some time while stationed with the Army at Fort . Bragg. Mr. Schilling left for his home, Long Beach, Cal., with his bride, the former Catherine Hussey, a local Igirl, soon alter his discharge last I July. They have now returned to Southern Pines to make their home. Mr. McLaughlin is a native of ]Red Springs. Before the war he iwas associated with men’s cloth ing stores in Red Springs and McColl, S. C., for six years. Dur ing World War 2 he served with a psychological warfare unit in campaigns in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany, then with the U. S. Army of Occupation in Italy and Austria. Entering the Army in March 1942, he was dis charged in October 1946 as a mas ter sergeant. He came to Lakeview as a member of the faculty of Vass Lakeview High school, where he taught for two years. He and his wife leased the Hotel Lakeview and grounds, including the fa mous Crystal lake, from the Wyandotte Woollen Co., Inc., soon after this New England firm pur chased almost all the Lakeview property in December 1950. They still have this under lease. They have two young sons Charles Allen, Jr., aged five, and John Franklin, four. Christmas Seal Sale Now Only Half Way Along Only about half the county goal of $7,500 for the 1952 Christmas Seal sale has been met so far, said Lawrence Johnson, of Aber deen, county Seal Sale chairman, this week. He asked that all who have re ceived seals in the mail but have not returned their contributions to their local chairman do so without delay. C. S. Patch, Jr., is the chairman in Southern Pines. Moore county has met its goal year after year in the sale of the TB Christmas seals, by which the program of the Moore County Tu berculosis association is carried forward. “Funds from this year’'s seal sale will m,ak'e possible a new, expanded program of tuberculosis case-finding, prevention and edu cation in Moore county,” Mr. Johnson said this week. “Seventy- five per cent of the money col lected stays in the county and 94 per cent stays in the state,”, he pointed out. The Moore County Association’s program in the coming year willj offer free x-rays at the health de-J partment in Carthage and the As sociation will continue to buy trilk and groceries fer needy con valescent tuberculosis patients or' patients awaiting acceptance at a sanatorium. Contributions from persons who did not receive seals or an appeal letter are welcome and may be sent directly to Mr. Johnson at Aberdeen. Thursday afternoon at Mt. Hope cemetery, conducted by Dr. W.
