business session.
Miss Flora McDonald conducted
a demonstration on the making
of strawberry puree, and mem
bers were enthusiastic after giv
ing the finished product the taste
test.
The hostesses served whipped
jello and brownies.
Twelve members were present
and three visitors, Mrs. A. G.
Crissman, Sr., Mrs. Albert G.
Crissman and Jeanette Spalding,
all of Vass.

dinner at their home Tuesday
evening at which Air Vice-Mar
shal L. F. Sinclair, Royal Air
Force, from Old Sarum, Salisbury,
England, was guest of honor.

holding 'lighted tapers, adorned
the altar.
Wedding music was presented
by Mrs. C. R. Mills, church or
ganist, and Mrs. Anthony Freder-
ico, vocalist, of Southern Pines.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her brother, Paul
Warren, wore a ballerina^ength
gown of white embroidered or
gandy over pale green, with a
finger-tip veil of nylon net. She
carried a white prayer book top
ped with a purple-throated orchid
and stephanotis.
Mrs. Floyd Mulholland of Fay

of honor, and Miss Florence S.
Sides of McCain was maid of
honor. Their dresses were of pale
green and orchid organdy over
taffeta. Miss Donna Poole, cousin
of the bride, was flower girl,
wearing white organdy over pink.
They carried colonial bouquets of
snapdragons and other mixed
flowers.

Holds Reunion
The annual reunion of the des
cendants of the late Mr. and Mrs.
C. C. McLellan was held last

visit Philip’s godmother, Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Morell left
Tuesday for their summer home
in Peacedale, R. I.
Robert M. Leland was recent
ly transferred to the veterans
hospital at Asheville from the
Fayetteville hospital, where he
had been a patient for about four
months. Mrs. Leland visited him
last weekend, going along with a
group of members of the Pine-
hurst Lions club who attended
the state convention of Lions In
ternational at Asheville.
Charles Merrill left Friday for
Northport Point, Mich., where he
will be employed at a country
club during the summer. .

spent Sunday at Myrtle Beach, S.
C.
Mr. and Mrs. -G. L. White and
daughter Craig left last Friday on
a trip to Hot Springs and Green
brier Springs in Virginia, White

at the Highland Pines Inn Wed
nesday afternoon, with Mrs. Wil
bur Patton and Mrs. G. W. Wiley
as hostesses.
Bridge and canasta were play
ed during the afternoon. Mrs. C.
Dixon won first prize in bridge;
Mrs. Lamar Welch, second, and
Mrs. Mack C. Shelly, low. Mrs.
Floyd Frederick won in' canasta.

daughter, born Monday weighing
six pounds, eight ounces. Mrs.
Quillen is the former Miss Ther

son. Jack, returned Friday from
a visit to relatives in the North.

Mrs. Charles Covell entered
Duke hospital on Thursday of last
