North Carolina Page ELEVEN Practical Nurses Books Presented At Moore Hospital Receive Licenses Four employees of the Nursing Service of Moore County Hospital received Licensed Practical Nurse certificates this \veek from the N. C. Board of Nurse Examiners. A license for practical nursing is based oo 18 months’ training or two years’ experience in a hospi tal. Applicants with the proper training or experience must pass a written examination. The ex amination is given by the N. C. Board of Nurse Examiners, En larged, which is composed of three registered nurses, three li censed practical nurses and two physicians. The four new Licensed Practi cal Nurses at Moore County Hos pital are Miss Lena Cameron of Southern iPnes, Mrs. John Carter of Jackson Springs, Miss Maude McDonald of Carthage and Mrs. C. E. McKenzie of Pinehurst. These practical nurses were eli gible to take the written examin ation on the basis cl two years experience, most of which was gained at Moore County Hospital. A Son The Rev. and Mrs. Paul Freed announce the /birth of a son, James Philip, on October 30 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greens boro. The baby weighed eight pounds and four ounces. Mrs. Freed is the former Miss Betty Jane Seawell of Carthage. Youth Day The Youth Fellowship of the Carthage Presbyterian Church conducted the 11 o’cclock wor ship service Sunday morning and presented a fine program; on the life and teachings of Christ. Mrs. M. T. Stewart is the adult advisor. Fall Rally On Sunday afternoon, Novem ber 15, the Carthage Youth Fel lowship will be host to the young people of Districts 6 and 7 at their fall rally, beginning at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, and will enjoy a picnic supper. Inspirational Meeting The Women cf the Presbyterian Church held their monthly meet ing in the Grace Worth room of the Sunday school building Mon day afternoon with the president, Mrs. M. G. Boyette, presiding. The treasurer’s report was giv en by Miss Eula Blue and reports were heard from each cf the five Circles. The nominating committee pre sented the names of the officers who will serve next year. They are: Mrs. J. K. Roberts, president; Mrs. W. H. Currie, Spiritual Growth; Mrs. J. E. Fraser, World Missions; Mrs. P. H. McDonald, Assemlbly’s Agency; and Mrs. W. G. Brown, Religious Education. The new officers will be installed at the December meeting. Mrs. Holt McNeill gave an in spiring talk on the topic; “My Church—^As a Part of the Whole.” Mrs. Golden, who was unable to attend Group Conference in Cameron Friday, was presented a Life Membership pin by Mrs. Boyette. ■The meeting closed with prayer. Personals Miss Rose Miller, student at Queens College, Charlotte, was home over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Mil ler. The Rev. W. S. Golden was in Richmond, Va., Wednesday to at tend a meeting of the Friends of the Seminary. Miss May Stuart is, recupera ting nicely after spending sev eral days in the Moore County Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. P. H. McDonald were in Columbia, S. C., over the weekend to visit the Rev. and Mrs. D. McL. McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. Stowe Cole have moved to the Mann house on Little Creek road, formerly occu pied by Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Ken nedy. Guests of Mk. and Mrs. J. L. McGraw Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Loy and daughter of Burlington and Mr. and Mrs. Llcyd McGraw of Raleigh. Mrs. W. G. Caldwell and niece. Miss Frances Neely, are spending this week with Mrs. Caldwell's son-in-law and daughter. Dr. and Mrs. Horn, and her sister, Mrs. Ruth Stevenson, in Washington, D. C. They were accompanied by Miss Bell Alexander and Mrs. J. K. Roberts. Miss Alexander is visiting Dr. and Mrs. Chalmers Carr in Kensington, Md., and Mrs. Roberts is with her son, the Rev.
