FACING THE PRESS—Adlai E. Stevenson,
seated in the center of the photo, is surrounded
by photographers and reporters last Thursday
afternoon when members of the North Carolina
press journeyed to Paint Hill Farm between
Southern Pines and Aberdeen for an informal
session that skirted serious political questions
but produced many lively and interesting com
ments by the former Presidential candidate. In
the background is the log cabin home of Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest L. Ives where Mr. Stevenson is a
vacation guest of his sister, Mrs. Ives.
