Experimenting with lead chromate, research workers have started to develop a treatment which will make the covers rot- proef as well as sun resistant. Scott will be the ninth entertainer in this season’s series of artists and guest speakers pre sented by the Pinehurst Forum- when he appears next Thursday, March 31, at 8;45 p.m. at the Pine hurst Country Club, in an eve ning’s program entitled, “Con certo For Fun.” The Forum meet ing will be preceded by the Coun try Club’s weekly buffet supper at 7 o’clock, for which advance reservations are required. Mr. Scott, distinguished pianist and originator of “concert humor” is presenting something unique on the American concert scene. His career represents a long and im pressive array of theatre appear ances, short pictures for Para mount, radio engagements, a sea son at New York’s famous Rain bow Room and finally a debut at Town Hall as “America’s First Concert Humorist.” The past three years have marked his steady de velopment into' a national attrac tion in concert halls from coast to coast. A talented concert pianist and brilliant interpreter of Chopin and ' Liszt, Mr. Scott is at the same time an authority on modern pop ular styles. He was born and spent his boy hood at Tivoli-on-Hudson, where he and his family still live in the house of his grandfather. He studied at the College of Fine Arts, Syracuse University, and later married Mary Bell Bard, Vassar graduate and daughter of Dr. Harry Erwin Bard, the inter nationally known educator. They are the parents of two children, a girl and a boy. The program will feature several instruments, bagpipes and the Scottish Highland Fling dance. The event is sponsored by the West End School Parent-Teacher Association. The proceeds from a small admission charge will be used for playground equipment at the West End school.
