y FRIDAY. APRIL 15. 1955 THE PILOT—Southern Pines. North Carolina PAGE ELEVEN Home Demonstration Club News TKagards Club The Thagards H. D. Club held its March meeting in the home of Mrs. O. L. Darnell with thirteen present. Mrs. Glenn Horne, the Family Life Leader, led the club meeting in a discussion on “Dis cipline-Wise and Otherwise.” All club members' took part in the discussion, each expressing her views on discipline. Mrs. Ruby Matthews and Mrs. Ernest Horne had attended an Arts and Crafts School in Car thage and taught the club mem bers how to make tufted bed spreads. After the business, games were played and refreshments were enjoyed. We are looking for ward to our April meeting in the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Horne.—Mrs. Richard Matthews, publicity chairman. We have always thought of Mrs. R. L. Black as our club’s out standing turkey and poultry grower. But now'she has started to do over lier kitchen, dining room and living room with the aid of a neighbor boy. She was on a step ladder putting up Celotex over her head when we called one afternoon. She plans to do all the work herself except putting the sheet rock on the walls. She will have a carpenter do this. Mrs. Black also has a very at tractive yard in which she enjoys working.
