f i 3: t PAGE TEN THE PILOT—Southern Pines, North Carolina THURSDAY, JUNE 23, 1955 Home Demonstration Club News Raiiibow Club Mrs. C. C. Loftin was gracious hostess at the June meeting of the Rainbow Club. Attendance was back tO' normal. It was a leader’s meeting. Mrs. R. L. Old ham, clothing leader, gave a well planned demonstration on “Dress for the Occasion.” She had plac ards to illustrate an outfit for each need and was attractively dressed herself for a club meet ing. One of the many aims of club work is planning and doing our work in the easiest manner. Mrs Loftin has rearranged her kitchen with a cozy living nook which saves time and steps and keeps the family in closer companion ship. Many of us remember the old fashioned cheerful kitchens with open fireplaces which are being revived to some extent in this modern age. The ladies spoke of their fruit ful spring gardens that point to well fed families and groaning CARTHAGE NEWS pantry shelves for next winter. Do’s and Don’ts for bride and groom were in keeping with the traditional month. The home agent has these pamphlets. Refreshments followed the cldse of meeting.—By Mrs. A. C. Bailey, publicity chairman, aRin- bow Club. Thagards Club Mrs. J. L. Matthews was host ess to the Thagards Home Dem onstration Club for June. Mrs. Richard Matthews gave the les son on “What to Wear and When” which fitted in very will with the May lesson, “Figure Flattery.” The club members came in dif ferent outfits, play clothes, casual and dress up. Mrs. Richard Mat thews also gave an interesting discussion on what to wear at weddings—if you are in the wed ding or a guest. After the business and lesson were ever, refreshments were served.—^By Mrs. C. B. Ragsdale, publicity chairman, Thagards Club.
