Five members of Inter mediate Troop 53 received the Curved Bar, highest award in Girl Scouting—Linda Wellman, Connie Pierce, Jan McDonald, Margot Campbell, Mary Cameron. 2. Swim periods were held daily. 3. Senior Scouts Joan Parker and Phyllis Garzik build a work table. 4. “Buddy system” used for safety while swimming. 5. Senior Scouts cook their lunch—Phyllis Garzik, Sondra Bailey, Joan Parker, Carol Staples. 6. Richardson Succumbs At 65; Rites Held Sunday Funeral services for Oscar Samuel Richardson, 65, of Jack- son Springs, who died Sunday at Moore County Hospital, were held Tuesday afternoon at Jack- son Springs Presbyterian Church. The Rev. James Benjamin, pas tor, officiated, assisted by the Rev.'W. H. Brown of Jackson Springs Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Born in Moore County, Mr. Richardson was the son of the late J. J. and Martha Ritter Rich ardson. Bowman of Raeford were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Warren. Mr. and Mrs. William Koontz and son of Portsmouth, Va., were weeknd guests of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Sykes. Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Faircloth Jr. and daughter Sue of Spring Lake visited Mr. and Mrs. Mack Wicker and family Wednesday. Among those attending the summer session at UNC several spending the weekend at home were Mrs. Karl Pohl, Miss Joe Sue Wallace, Ella Ruth and Dor othy McNeill, Bill Taylor and Marion Sessoms. Mrs. J. R. Seewald, Jr., of Grosse He, Mich., is spending sev eral days thi^ w4ek as guest of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Farrell. Mrs. H, E. Bowman left Wed nesday for Byrtle Beach, where she will spend several weeks. Mrs. Buck Burns of Wadesboro visited . in Aberdeeh Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Warren spent Monday in Orangeburg, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Norris re turned Wednesday after spending several days visiting relatives in Boone. Mrs. F. A. Case and Mrs. E. A. Williams of Fayetteville were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Wicker and family. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. McLean and daughter of Grensboro were weekend guests of relatives in Aberdeen. Miss Jean Adder of California is spending several days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Adder and family. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mclnnis and son, of Fayetteville, visited relatives in Aberdeen over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Smith and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McNeill Jr., were in Siler City Saturday eve ning^ the Greer Furniture CO’. at Aber deen. Mr. Richardson was married to the former Nola Atitry of Autry- ville who survives. Also surviv ing are four daughters, Mrs. Charles Tucker of Salisbury, Md., Mrs. Ed Kelly of Springfield, Va., Mrs. Lee Mauney of Southern Pines and Linda Fay Rich ardson of the home; four sons, William R.. of Maxton, and Gor don, Leland and Oscar, Jr., all of the home; five grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters.
