EHRMAN PICKLER Comings and Goings Miss Janice Wylie left Thursday night for Ozark, Ala., to visit her sister, Mrs. Eddie Baggett, and Sergeant Baggett. Mrs. Ethel Edwards spent the weekend in Biscoe with her fath er, J. C. Reece and Mrs. Reece. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Tyner and children, Shirley, Freddie and Jane, have returned home after spending a week at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Abram of Philadelphia, Pa., spent last week with Mrs. Abram’s mother, Mrs. Emmie Vellenga. Lt. and Mrs. Sydney Edwards of Fort Bragg accompanied them home and made a short visit. • James Schnelli left Sunday for YMCA camp at Myrtle Beach, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Ray McCaskUl and daughter Marianna of Clem- son College spent last week with Mr. McCaskill’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. McCaskill. Mr. and Mrs. A1 Ludacer have returned to their home in Toledo- Ohio, after a visit with Mrs. Lu- dacer’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Wallace. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hunt and children, Linda and Carlton of Greensboro, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lampley. W. K. Carpenter, Jr., M. C. Pick\er and Wesley McMurray spent the weekend at Carolina Beach on a fishing trip. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Carpenter and children, Rachel and Jimmy,, spent the weekend in Raleigh with Mr. and Mrs. Claude Adams. Sgt. and Mrs. Ralph Dixon ac- cortipanied Mrs. Leon I. Wylie, Sr., to Norristown, Pa., Thursday, where Mrs. Wylie joined Mr. Wy lie. Sgt. and Mrs. Dixon return ed home Sunday. Mrs. J. T. Norris, Archie and Max Norris of Troy visited Mrs. J. W. Pickier Sunday. Miss Marquita Phillips of Fay etteville is visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lacy Sessoms. Mrs. Victor Notarangelo and children, Suzy and Rip, left Mon day night for their home, Bronx, N. Y., after a visit with Mrs. Not- arangelo’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. G. Deaton. Mrs. Fred Johnson and son, Fred, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Carpenter, Jr. Mrs. Mary David and Caroline Johnson accompa nied them home. Caroline spent the past two weeks with Mr', and Mrs. Carpenter. Mr. and Mrs. T. Warren Gold- ston and son, Forrest, of Raleigh were weekend guests of Mrs. Goldston’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Leavitt. Miss Harriett Schnell spent last week in High Point with her cousin. Miss Nina Burris. Nina accompanied Harriett home for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Helms of Sanford and Carol Aldridge of Jacksonville, N. C., visited Mrs. V. F. Tarlton and Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Carpenter, Sr., Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Simpson of Sanford and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Simpson of Cameron were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Smith. , Mrs. John Fiddner, Sr., and Mrs. Joseph Schack are spending the week in Greensboro with Mr. and Mrs. Luther McDonald. Mrs. J. M. Townsend has re turned home after a month spent in visits with friends. She went first to York, Pa., where she vis ited Mrs. J. B. Head. From York, Mrs. Head and Mrs. Townsend went to Prensburg, Pa., for a class reunion with Dr. Frank C. Lau- bach. Cdming back by Washing ton, Mrs. Townsend visited Mrs. Dorothy Halderman and had luncheon with Mrs. W. Kerr Scott at Carol Arms. From there she went to Hampton, Va., for a visit with Dale Keys and on to Rich mond where she visited Mr. and Mrs. William Worth. She stopped in Raleigh for a visit with Miss Ma^ Norwood, then went to Smithfield, where she paid a visit to Mrs. John Prevott. WSCS Meets Mrs. Paul Troutman was host ess to the Woman’s Society of Christian Service of Pinebluff Methodist Church at her home Tuesday night. Nine members answered roll call. Mrs. James Hamilton had charge of the pro gram and Mrs. James Smith pre ’ sided ever the business. You should not leave off milk when on a reducing diet. Re search has shown that a person on a reducing diet gets along best when he consumes more protein than usual.
