A former custom of having a picnic dinner at Hom’ecoming was revived this year and a picnic table in the grove adjoining the home was spread with a bounti ful dinner with visitors, faculty members, and children enjoying the feast together. Personals Dr. Rena Hernandez returned to his home in Birmingham, Ala., last Monday, at|er a week’s visit in the home of Mrs: Mae Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barrett and son. Bill, of Rockingham spent Sunday with Mrs. U. L. Barrett. Mrs. Gertrude Parker and son. Bill, have returned to their home in Lake Worth, Fla., after spend ing two months with her sister, Mrs. Wilton Brown. ,Tim Katsos is at home after a stay in Brooklyn, N. Y. Mrs. H. D. Phillips and grand son, Phil Wielch, of Star were Fri day guests of her sister, Mrs. D. H. Parks. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Pittman and children of Olivia visited Mrs. Ruth MacLeod Sunday. J. S. Phillips of Glendon was in Carthage Monday on business. Misses Becky Wallace and Bar bara Brown left last week for Ra leigh to resume their studies at Peace College. Dolph Blue, who was at Mem orial Hospital in Chapel Hill last week for treatment, is convales cing at his home on Sunset Drive. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hough and children and Mrs. Julia Hubble of Greensboro were recent guests of Mrs. Mae Davis and other rela tives here. Mr. and Mrs. Neill McK. Clegg and sons, Charles and Neill, Jr., of Rockingham spent the week end with Mrs. Charles A. Cox. , Mjf. N. A. MacLeod and chil dren, Miss Janie MacLeod and Mrs. Ruth MacLeod were in Ra leigh, Saturday. Mrs. Jack Long and daughter, Ruth Ann, of Norfolk, Va., are visiting relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Adams of Jacksonville, ' Fla., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Stewart and children have moved to Chapel Hill where Mr. Stewart is attending the University. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Blue McDon ald, Jr., and son, Earl Blue III, of Chapel Hill were here for the weekend with Mrs. Blue’s pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl B. Mc Donald. Mrs. P. H. Far rell of Sanford, will conduct serv ices at'7:30 each evening to fol low, Monday through Friday. There will be special music throughout the week. The Rev. Mr. Gilmore, who lives near Pinehurst, is pastor of four Baptist Churches in this area —Pleasant Hill, Laurel Hill, Beu lah Hill and Sximmer Hill. Pleas ant Hill Church opened in March, 1954, and has shown a steady growth.
