Watkins Fans 12 As Southern Pines Tops Robbins 15-3 Bobby Watkins, pitching what was probably the best game of his career, struck out 12 Robbins batters to give Southern Pines a 15-3 victory in the Moore County Pony League last Thursday. Watkins helped his own cause along with a home run. Other round-trippers were hit by Jim Carter, Melva Ray Hall and Jim Caldwell. Southern Pines collected 11 hits in the game, while Robbins could manage only three. It was the second win of the season for Southern Pines. Carthage Wins Carthage managed to pile up 11 hits in defeating the locals 10-5 Tuesday. Southern Pines could manage only five. Two players on the Southern Pines team have been placed on the temporary disable hst. Wayne Davenport and Butch Ry der both injured in bicycle acci dents. They are expected to re sume playing in the near futuie.
