Cockraan. was host ess to the Mount Holly Home Demonstration Club Wednesday, October 3. The president, Mrs. Jasper Marsh, called the meeting to order. The opening song was “United Nations Hymn” follow ed by the club Collect. Mrs. Cockman led the devotional. Twelve members were present. Qn October 19, it was an nounced, club members wUl have a quilting in the basement of Center Church. We will have a covered dish supper at 6 o’clock. At the last meeting food con servation leader, Mrs. D. L. Pat terson, gave a report on “Where «J Put Your Home Freezer.” The mieeltng was turned over to Miss ■Rie demonstration this month was “Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Broiler.” Broiler meals are quick, easy and delicious. One food or a whole meal may be cooked in a single pan. This saves dish washing, time and fuel. During the social hour the club presented Mrs. Cockman with a gift of two beautiful pictures for her new home. The drawing for the attendance gifts went to Mrs. Edgar Yow and Mrs. Watson Yow. They will bring gifts for , the November drawing. I The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Patterson, served delicious cook ies and soft drinks. Raisen said he pulled out his knife, slashed Gillis in the stomach and on the face. He was arrested the next morning by Chief Newton. Police also reported another distmbance Saturday at the Eve ning Club, which is becomijig no torious. They said that Don Gales, 46, who gave his address as Jackson Hamlet, had asaulted his wile there about 9 p. m. Saturday night. Gales, police said, was car rying a Navy flare gun into which he had inserted part of a shotgun shell. The flare gun, which can easily be carried in the pocket, is extremely danger ous, police said. Gales was ordered to appear in Recorder’s Court Monday morn ing, but the'case was continued until next Monday. He is present ly at liberty under $400 bond, which had been ordered at a pre liminary hearing before Justice of the Peace Lloyd T. Miss Jane Land, student at State College, visited Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Adcox Simday. Mr. and Mrs. Val Elsesser have returned to their home after spending the summer at Spring Lake Beach, N. J.
