CAROLINA
Continuing through this Thurs-
day-Saturday at the Carolina is
the Alfred Hitchcock mystery
story, “The Wrong Man,” star
ring Henry Fonda and Vera
Miles, in which the famous di-
lector of mystery stories for the
first time has gone to life for his
story.
In the same manner in which
the director creates his special
brand of film magic, he took his
cameras to the actual New York
City locales of the story; cafe
terias, apartments, clubs, offices,
streets and subways are seen in
the film. Henry Fonda and Vera
Miles play the roles of two people
caught in an amazing web of
mistaken identity.
This is Mr. Fonda’s initial per
formance under Mr. Hitchcock.

Coming Sunday through Tues
day, is a return engagement in
the Sandhills of that most plea
sing “mother and daughter”
story, “Teenage Rebel,” adapted
from the Broadw^hy stage success
“A roomful of Roses,” starring
Ginger Rogers, Michael Rennie,
Betty Lou Keim 'and Warren
Berlinger, the latter two having
had the same roles in the stage
production.
Indications of its title to the
contrary, this slick problem play
has no truck with juvenile de
linquency, but finds^ its theme in
that old standard situation con
cerning divorced parents of an
only child. The teenagers seen
here are orderly, mannerly, con
vention-abiding young folks who
behave perfectly, and meet their
problems squarely, like young
ladies and gentlemen. They pro
ject healthy, normal, youthful
exuberance rather than the ma
licious, destructive characteris
tics that have supplied the foun
dations for numerous recent pho
toplays.
Starting Wednesday, Feb. 27,
matinee and night, is the much
talked-about attraction, “Baby
Doll” from the story of Tennessee
Williams, starring Karl Malden,
Carroll Baker and Eli Wallach,
which we regret to announce
comes under the head of a
'‘strictly adult” picture.

Among his many distinctions is

following in the footsteps Of the
first great trail-blazers, Disney
depicts the varying relationships
between Indians and whites that
shaped the character of the west
ern frontier. ,
Featuring Fess Parker, Kath
leen Crowley and Jeff York as
the starring trio in a huge sup
porting cast, “Westward Ho The
Wagons!” brings to life on the
screen an adventure drama that
roars with excitement, action
and suspense.
In one of the biggest scenes in
the film a wagon train teen-ager
is captured as hostage by Pawnee
scouts, but his daring escape pro
vokes a full scale attack on the
caravan. With the wagons unable
to escape complete annihilation,
the pioneers save themselves
only by turning their large herd
of extra horses against the charg
ing Indians.
Another scene of powerful
drama centers around the de
mand of the fierce Sioux Chief.
He asks that the white men de
liver to his tribe a golden-haired
youngster who has been declared
“good medicine” for valuable
gifts.
