Danger Areas In
Fort Bragg Noted
Fort Bragg officials have
warned that unauthorized per
sons are prohibited to enter fir
ing ranges on the post, because
of the definite safety hazard that
exists in these areas.
The ranges, they explain, are
in daily use, and even when
there is no actual firing in prog
ress, the presence of unexploded
shells makes the danger con
stant.
The two primary danger areas
outlined are the northeast section
of Fort Bragg, east of Highway
210, and the range area bounded
on the east by Gruber Road, on
the north by Manchester Road,
on the south by Plank Road, and
on the west by King Road.

FIRST
STEPS
in the New Year
y®3r of 1958 begins, six months remain in the
*^'o®r Carolina Contest. The 18 month contest period
will end on June 30th, 1958.
For many communities entered in the contest, the first step
m the new year will be a quick look at the accomplishments
ot the past year and then a re-evaluation of what must be
done in the remainder of the time to bring their Finer Carolina
Program to a successful conclusion.
Projects selected in early 1957 hove been brought a lonq
v^^y along the road to completion. Your.town can realize the
advantages of the completed projects only if you are willinq
to offer your assistance toward the attainment of the goals.
Let your Finer Carolina Committee know that you ore with
them in their efforts to make your town Carolina's Finest.
P. S. As shown in the illustration above, a helping
hand brings quicker achievements. A tremendous
backlog of community leadership has been built
up over the past six years of the Finer Carolina
ITogram. Especially during the final six months of
his contest period, would the aid and assistance of
"'-'St participants in the program be appreciated.
