HAPPENED SUNDAY NIGHT
Officers Investigating Two More
Break-Ins Of County Establishments
Moore County law enforce
ment officers, plagued in recent
weeks with a rash of break-ins,
added two more to the list Suib-
day night.
Officers said Monday that
Michael’s Store, near the airport
on NC Highway 22, and Danny’s
Grill, on US 1 between Cameron
and Vass, were the targets. Both
have been robbed before, one of
the investigating officers said,
Danny’s Grill within the past
three weeks.
At both places entry , was made
by forcing the lock on the front
door. Danny’s Grill not only had
a new lock, but an entire new
door since the previous robbery.
At Michael’s several shelves
were stripped bare of canned
and packaged goods. Mel Mich
ael, proprietor of the combina
tion store and service station,
said some tires and other items
also appeared to be missing. He
was hampered in taking an in
ventory because of the necessity
of being in Superior Court Mon
day to appear as a witness
against John Edward McLean
and Walter Thomas Marsh,
charged with robbing him some
months ago.
Deputy Herman Grimm is in
vestigating that break-in.
Under investigation by Con
stable Lester Woods of Cameron
is the robbery of Danny’s Grill,
where the ice cream box and
juke box were broken open and
some $30 to $35 in cash taken
from each machine. The grill is
owned by Ralph Oliver of San
ford and operated by Mrs. Ethel
Cole of Cameron.
The State Bureau of Investi
gation is assisting in both cases.
On May 13, 1908, by act of Con
gress, the U. S. Navy Nurse Corps
was established.

has begun teaching in the field
of Distributive Education at Cary
High School. She was the week
end guest of her parents, Mr. and
