The house chamber, lobbies and gallery were filled for the occasion. While I am no judge of painting, I did not think the portrait did justice to the Squire of Haw River. Farrells Visitors in Raleigh on Tuesday of this week were Judge and Mrs. J. G. Farrell of Aberdeen. Welfare I have had a number of com munications from Moore County requesting increased appropria tions for the Welfare Department that more funds may be available' for hospital care of indigent pa tients. I feel sure that more money will be appropriated for this purpose than was recom- mfended by the Govjernor and the Advisory Budget Corrimission.
