Tucker- man plan to leave Saturday for two months in Ipswich, Mass. Hugh Carter spent the week end at Vade Mecum in the North Carolina mountains. The Carters’ daughter, Mary Anne, is working at the Episcopal Camp where she will be until Jdne 28. The Youth Fellowship class of the Pinehurst Community Church spent the weekend at Myrtle Beach, S. C. Chaperones were Mrs. John Ludwig and George A. Short, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Tufts, who returned to this country aboard the Queen Mary from a trip to England, Scotland and Wales, got back Wednesday to their home here.. The Rt. Rev. Louis C. Melcher, Mrs. Melcher and their daugh ter, Mary, return here Saturday after spending two days in Ches ter, S. C., where Bishop Melcher will officiate at the marriage of his son, the Rev. L. C. Melcher, Jr., to Miss Joanne Ogle, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Victor Ogle of Titusville, Fla. The cou ple will be married Friday in the groom’s church, St. Mark’s Epis copal Church in Chester. Mrs. T. L. Black, her daughters, Miss Marcia Black and Mrs. Geor- gianna Hargreaves, and the lat ter’s two children, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Thompson. Mrs. L. C. Burwell, Jr., and her children Buzz, Bob and Lynn, spent last week with Mr. Burwell in Washington, D. C. Mrs. Mildred P. Miller leaves Monday for a visit with relatives in Springfield, Mass. On her way up, she will spend a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Hales in Devon, Pa. Chester I. Williams and his son, Monroe, are in Sapphire for a Southern Seniors Golf tourna ment being held this week at the Sapphire Country Club. Mrs. Monroe Williams, who returned Saturday from a visit to New York City, is in Asheville visit ing friends. Mrs. Joe Plexico, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Peter Tufts, and family, returned ‘Wed nesday to her home in Union, S. C. Mr . and Mrs. T. P. Cheney leave Monday for St. Louis, Mo., where they will visit their daugh ter and son-in-law, the Rev. and Mrs. Claudius Miller, HI, and their children. After a stay there, the Cheneys plan to go on to Cal gary, Alberta, Canada, to be with their other daughter, Mrs. Henry J. Wilson, and her family. My. and Mrs. Louis K. Luff have left for their summer home in Lynfield, Mass. Making their annual trip to Ocean Drive Beach, S. C., last weekend were Mrs. Lewis P. Johnson, Mrs- Roderick Innes, Mrs. Melvin Wicker, Mrs. W. R. Viall, Jr., Mrs. Henson Maples, Mrs. George A. Short, Jr., and Mrs. Thomas Connolly. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gamier plan to leave Monday for Ken- nebunkport, Maine, where they will spend the balance of the summer. The employees of the Pine hurst Garage spent last weekend at Little River on a fishing trip. Donald Miller arrived last weekend from New York for a short visit with his wife and fam ily. The orig inal King’s Grant was burned in the destruction of the old Carth age court houie. Mr. and Mrs. Finch and their young daughter have been living in Oldwick, N. J.
