Father Of Mrsr
Clarence Edson
Died On Sunday
Reuben MacBrayer, father of
Mrs. Clarence Edson of Pine-
hurst, died in Forest City Sunday
after a long illness.
Funeral services were conduc
ted Tuesday.
Included among the survivors
are Mrs. Edson, her son and
daughter, and Mrs. Edson’s sister.
Miss Catherine MacBrayer, who
has been on the Pinehurst school
faculty for a number of years.

C. G. Wimberly, former State
Highway Patrolman, has accept
ed the post of night officer with I
the Aberdeen department, ending
a retirement from law enforce
ment activities of about a year j
and a half.
Wimberly, a native of Chatham I
County, served as a patrolman
in Moore for seven years, and
was one of the most respected
officers ever to serve here. He
resigned in March, 1958, and was I
a candidate for Moore County |
sheriff.
He and his wife and four little 1
daughters live on a farm near
Aberdeen where he has an earth- |
worm business.
Smith, 27,- was sworn in Sat- j
urday as an ABC officer, replac
ing W. Keith Marks of Aberdeen,
who resigned in June to accept
a position in Florida. He is 27,
a veteran of three years’ service
with the U. S. Navy, and married
to the former Nancy D’Agostino
of Harrisburg, Pa- They live in |
Southern Pines, where Mrs.
Smith is employed by the tele
phone company. His employment j
brings the county ABC enforce
ment staff up to full strength, the
other officers being C. A. Mc-
Callum of Carthage, chief, and j
W. F. Thrower of Robbins.
