Both plan to leave July 11 for New York City where they will spend a week. Mrs. A. N. Derouin and Mrs. Watt Smith and daughter, Jo anna, returned Tuesday from Myrtle Beach, S. C. where they spent the weekend. Maj. and Mrs. James R. Wicker and children, Jill and Jake, arrive this weekend from Bossier City, La. for two weeks with their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Rassie Wicker and Mr. and Mrs. B. U. Richard son. Lt. Gen. and Mrs. George P. Hays have gone to England where they plan to spend two months. Mr. and Mirs. Richard S. Tufts have gone to the Marshall House at York, Me. for the summer. Hugh Carter left Sunday for a visit in Somerville, N. J. with his mother, Mrs. H. M. Adams. Miss Mary Anne Carter, who has been at Vade Mecum for the past three weeks, returned home Mon day and plans to spend the week end visiting her brother and sis ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. Wil liam Carter, Jr. and children in Winston-Salem. Mr. and Mrs. William S. Ander son returned this week from a short visit in Williamsport, Pa. 1 Mrs. M. E.
