STATEMENT OF RESULT OF
THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD
IN THE TOWN OF VASS.
NORTH CAROLINA, ON
MARCH 27. 1962
WHEREAS, by direction of the
Board of Commissioners of the
Town of Vass, in the State of
North Carolina, a special election
was duly called and held in said
Town on March 27, 1962, for the
purpose of submitting to the
qualified voters of said Town
the question of whether the
qualified voters of said Town
shall approve the indebtedness to
be incurred by the issuance of
bonds of said Town of the maxi
mum principal amoimt of $146,-
000 to finance the enlargement
and extension of the water supply
system maintained and operated
by said Town by the erection of
a water filter plant including the
acquisition of lands or rights in
land and the necesary equipment
and apparatus required therefor,
and a tax therefor, and also the
bond ordinance adopted by the
Board of Commissioners of said
Town on January 8, 1962, which
authorizes the issuance of said:
bonds for such purpose and the
levy of such tax, and the said
Board of Commissioners has duly
canvassed the return of the Reg
istrar and Judges of Election ap
pointed to hold said election and
has determined the result of said
election to be as hereinafter
stated: NOW THEREFORE,
Said Board of Commissioners
hereby makes the following state
ment of the result of said special
election pursuant to The Munici
pal Finance Act, 1921, of North
Carolina;
(1) The number of voters regis
tered and qualified to vote
at said election was 262.
(2) The number of votes cast at
said election “For the ordi
nance authorizing $146,000
of bonds to finance the en
largement and extension of
the water supply system
maintained and operated by
said Town by the erection
of a water filter plant in
cluding the acquisition of
lands or rights in land and
the necessary equipment and
apparatus required therefor,
and a tax therefor” was 199.
The number of votes cast at
said election against said
bonds and tax was 22. Said
bonds and tax were approv
ed by the affirmative vote of
a majority of those who
voted on said bonds and tax
at said election.
IN WilTNESS WHEREOF, we,
the undersigned members of the
Board of Commissioners of the
Town of VasS, have hereunto set
our hands this 9th day of April,
