This will be your opportunity to give blood which will make it possible for you or any member of your family to receive blood for the next six months should it be need ed. There will be doctors and nurses on duty during the after noon and you will be given a complete physical examination be fore giving blood. Moore County hospitals are dependent on the blood bank so mark Tuesday well on your calendar. Teachers Honorea Misses Bert McCrummen and Tressie Auman were hostesses to a luncheon Tuesday at the Pres byterian Church honoring their fellow teachers and Mrs. Barabara Carter, school secretary. At the luncheon, Miss Tressie Auman, in behalf of the teachers, presented a travel clock to principal R. P. Johnson, who has resigned after heading the school for four yearn. Miss Auman also presented Miss Blanche Monroe, who is retiring after many years as first grade teacher with an electric lamp, in behalf of the faculty. Completes High School Since 1959, Dewey Saunders has been taking his high school work three nights weekly, summer and winter, in a school in Rockingham. On last Wednesday night, his dream became a reality and he was graduated with top grades in his class, on the examination papers. There at his side, as she has been for the past three years, was his wife, the former Miss Patsy Pusser, his sons Brice, 2, and Ernest, 4, his mother, Mrs. Minnie Saunders, his mother-in- law, Mrs. Herman Pusser and his sister, Blanche. Dewey realized his need for a had the program. Awards Presented The Presbyterian Daily Vaca tion Church School presented a commencement program at the Sunday School hour and awards were presented by the superin tendent, Mrs. W. E. Jackson, and Sunday School Superintendent Allan McDonald. The leaders and assistants for the school were Mrs. George Houck, Mrs. E. R. Outland, Mrs. Earl Auman, Mrs. John Thompson, Mrs. Hubert Black, Mrs. North Lewis, Jane Jackson, Janice Gordon, and Janet and Becky Markham. At Camp Conference Attending the Senior High Fel lowship Conference at Camp Monroe from the Presbyterian Church are Rick and Chuck Lewis, Jane Jackson and Becky Markham. Attending from the Bensalem Fellowship are Delores Brewer and Stephen Lisk. Sandra Hartsell is attending from the Culdee Fellowship. Monroe were hostesses to a picnic supper Friday honoring R. P. Johnson. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Monroe, Jr., with Jean- nie and Douglas of aRteigh and Dr. and Mrs. John Monroe with Lauchin of Chapel Ehll. Mrs. Fred Monroe, Jr., with the children visited here last week and Was joined by Fred, Jr., for the weekend. Calling on the Monroes Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Eubanks of Candor. The Arthur Williams family vacationed last week at their Ocean Drive Cottage. Juanita Bost, who has just completed her first year at Duke was a guest as was Miss Barbara Moon of St. Andrews and Ijumberton. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Sutphin with Joanne are vacationing for two weeks at their cottage at Shal- lotte. Mr. and Mrs. James Rector were in Charlotte on Friday. Hilda Richardson of the Gaston County School of Nurses Training was home for the weekend. Julia Hanner, of Louisburg Col lege, spent last week at home and returned Monday for a summer session. Bobby Auman is attending sum mer school at Davidson. Like parents, like son. Clifton Munn has completed his practice teaching at High Point College and is planning to follow in his parents’ footsteps and teach this fall. Clifton was the guest of the Floyd Upoles for the weekend. Mrs. Henry Brewer of Sanford spent the week end with her mother, Mrs. Claude Auman. Mr. and Mrs. Chris McDonald, with Dick, of Greensboro, vaca tioned here with their parents last week. Jack Greene is critically ill in th e Troy Hospital.
