BIG PRODUCERS
Dairying in North Carolina has
become a “fast league” within
the past decade. Cows that were
the top producers in herds a few
years ago couldn’t even “make
the team” with present-day
herds. For instance, there are a
number of cows on the Dairy
Herd Improvement Association,
testing that have produced over
100 pounds. Or about 12 gallons,
of milk in one day.
