Roll-offs take place each month to choose the title winners for the previous month. The roll-offs for April are scheduled May 10—for women at 2 p.m. and men at 7 p.m. Spectators are invited. Mrs. Vesta Funderburk has announced the engagement of her daughter, Gail, to Boyd Melvin Beasley, of Hillpville, Va. Miss Funderburk is a 1958 graduate of Aberdeen High School and a 1962 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. hSe is a member of the faculty at Hill Junior High School, Winston-Salem. Mr. Beasley received his A. B. degree from King College, Tenn., in 1961 and since graduation, has been employed with the Wa chovia Bank and Trust Co. Bridge-Luncheon Mrs. N. A. Pleasants was host ess to her Bridge Club on Tues day afternoon, April 21, at her home here. Following a delicious luncheon, several progressions of bridge were played. Mrs George Anderson was declared high scorer and Mrs. Lawrence John son was second high. Others play ing were: Mrs. Needham Marley, guest; Mrs. W. S. Taylor, Mrs. Ralph Leach, Mrs. Dan Farrell, Mrs. David Hobbs and Mrs. Bob Farrell, members. Round Robin Club Mrs. Dan Farrell was hostess to the Round Robin Garden Club on Wednesday afternoon at her home in Forest Hills, where the American Home and Garden Award now graces her lawn. Upon arrival the 10 members present were served party sand wiches, potato chips and iced tea. Mrs. Lawrence Johnson, presi dent presided. The group held a round robin discussion for the program. Flower arrangements were judged and Mrs. Victor Grose, with her lovely arrange ment of yellow iris and scotch broom, tied for first place honors. Bridge Hostess Mrs. Vann Clark was hostess to members of her bridge club and several guests on Friday evening. Following play, scores were tal lied and Mrs. H. J. Edge was guest high. Miss Dorothy McNeill was club high, and Miss Jo Sue Wallace held the travel prize. Others playing were Mrs. Mack Wallace and Miss Jo Anne Wells, guests; and Mrs. Mack Wicker, Mrs. Harry Watson, and Mrs. Frank McNeill, members. A dessert course with coffee was served at the conclusion of the evening. Annual Presentations Miss Marion Brigman, editor of the “Timekeeper,” high school annual, made the following pre sentations in an impressive cere mony during assembly last Friday A special dedication was made as a memorial to Gray Keith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Keith, who died five years ago as a result of an accident. The “In Memoriam,” page was a special part of the an nual, as ■ Gray would have been a member of the current gradua ting class. The annual was dedicated to Coach Jack Crenshaw out standing teacher and coach. An annual was presented to Princi pal J. R. Brendell, Jr. who accept ed it in behalf of the school. A copy was also presented to Mrs. C. F. Buffkin, faithful advis er to the annual staff. Briefs Miss Jo Sue Wallace and Miss Jo Anne Wells returned to Hart ford, Conn. Saturday following a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. Mack Wallace. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Brendell of Boone were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Brendell, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs Bobby Bren dell. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Elliott and children of Monroe spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Leach, Jr. Miss Anne McKeithen spent last week here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jere McKeithen. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Pinkston and daughter of Laurinburg were weekend guests of their parents, the A1 Cruces and the Joe Pink stons. Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Jordan, Jr. and daughter of Raleigh were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McNeiU and Mrs. Paul R. Jordan. Mrs. Jack Smith is spending several days at Myrtle Beach, S. C. Mr. and Mrs M. S. Houston of Fairmont spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Barnes. Jere McKeithen has been at tending a School Board Associa- tional meeting in Houston, Texas.
