GILBEY, LTD., CINCINNATI, OHIO the following statement: “I supported Dr. Lake while he was running. If he were still run ning I would still be supporting him. I am proud that Dr. I.ake, in a recent press conference on television, mentioned my efforts in his behalf. I want to thank him publicly for allowing me to have part in his campaigns. I also want to publicly announce that in the second primary, I am sup porting Richardson Preyyer for the same basic reasons I support ed Dr. Lake. “Dr. Lake is a man of intelli gence and integrity, a man of principle. So is Richardson Prey er. Dr. Lake stood for honest, clean government. So does Rich ardson Preyer. Dr. Lake stood for honest, clean government. So does Richardson Preyer. Dr Lake nev er surrounded himself with big shots who are interested only in serving their own selfish ends. Neither has Richardson Preyer. The same cannot be said for Dan Moore. “Dr. Lake was supported by the working people of this State. Richardson Preyer also has the interests of the working people at heart in his campaign for Gov ernor. “The working people of our State have everything to lose and nothing to gain by siding with Dan Moore in the second primary. I think they realize this. And I am confident that many thousands of Lake people, like myself, will vote in the second primary for Richardson Preyer and for the kind of clean, honest government Dr. Lake and Richardson Preyer stand for.” BIRTHS Births at Moore Memorial Hos pital: First Reader Of Loeal Church At Boston Meeting Roland H. Delano of Pinebluff, First Reader of The Christian Science Church in Southern Pines, has returned from Boston where he attended the Annual Meeting of the Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scien tist. For the information of members of the local church and others in the area who are interested in Christian Science. Mr. Delano made the following report: Introduced at the meeting was the new president for the coming year, Edward Frod'erman, C.S. He is a former resident of Chicago, currently serving in Boston as a trustee of the Christian Science Publishing Society. The address and reports by various church departments were heard by about 7,000 members from many parts of the world. Closed circuit television was used at the meeting linking to gether the main auditorium in the extension of The Mother Church and three locations used for the large overflow audience. One report announced that more copies of Mrs. Eday’s book “Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures” were sold during the past year than in any year since its first publication in 1875. Establishment of a new Christian Science Society in Nigeria during the past year means that branches of The Mother Church are now located in 55 countries, it was stated. And with the publication of a new Greek edition of “The Herald of Christian Science” this church periodical will be printed in twelve languages, plus Braille. The new president of The Mother Church, Mr. Froderman, called attention in his address to the “healing accomplished' solely by means of spiritual enlightment and prayer that took place the world' over during the year.” Christian Scientists were remind ed that they “can courageously meet every claim of mortal mind’s resistance to the Healing Christ, Truth. They need not be disturbed if, at times, this resis tance may seem to take on new and hostile forms. It remains for each one to demonstrate the heal ing power of Love.” June 8—^Daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander McNeill, Southern Pines; daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles R.
