Golf Outing Coats and Clark Sales Corpor ation held their annual golf out ing last week at Whispering Pines, entertaining almost 60 guests, who represent 28 differ ent textile manufacturers of the Carolinas. After tournament play on the Whispering Pines course, the guests enjoyed a social hour and dinner at the Whispering Pines Dobbs House Restaurant on Sat urday evening. Buffet Supper Mr. and Mrs. Donald Morse en tertained about 40 of their friends at a buffet supper at their home on Thagard Lake in Whispering Pines last Friday night following the weekly twi light mixed golf touma ment. Mrs. Palmer has been a frequent visitor to Whispering Pines and several parties have been planned in her honor by her many friends in this locality. Mr and Mrs. William R. Schack of Whispering Pines hon ored Mr. Schack’s daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David Ross of Atlanta, Ga., at a social hour and buffet at the Holiday Inn on Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Ross have been the Schack’s house guests for several days. It is also rumored that hot coffee will be carried for the consumption of the players and the large gallery expected. The vogue of early morning golf seems to be catching on, and new golf carts (Jackie Gleason style) that carry hot coffee and sand wiches may have to be put into use. The trio began their tour of Fort Bragg with a visit to the command section of the XVIII Airborne Corps and a briefing on the Strategic Army Corps (STRAC) Tuesday morning. Next was the tour of the XVIII Air borne Corps and Fort Bragg’s Provost Marshal’s Office for a description of PMO activities and operations. Later the officers visited the 92nd and 503rd Militjuy Police Battalions where they weer giv en orientations on military police procedures ranging from staff actions to prisoner of war plan ning. The tour was capped with an orientation by the 82hd Airborne Division’s militaiy police section where they received briefings on airborne military police tech niques and use of communica tions equipment in provost mar shal operations. The officers departed Fort Bragg and Fayetteville Tuesday after an official dinner in the Hickey Room of the Fort Bragg Officer’s Open Mess that evening.
