Night Circle Meets The Night Circle of the Metho dist church met Monday evening with Mrs. Vernon Davis, Jr. Mrs. Joseph W. Adams gave an inter esting program on “A New Age Opens New Doors.” Mrs. Ehrman Pickier presided and heard re ports. A food sale was planned for Saturday morning to be held in front of Collins Store in Aber deen. During the social hour, the' hostess served refreshments. Personals Lee Ann Elder has returned home after spending several days in Laurinburg with her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. McNairy. Dedi Spence returned to the NC School for deaf and dumb in Morganton last Monday. Mrs. Ruth Frazier and son, Steve of Richmond, Va., were weekend guests of Mrs. Adele Wilborn and Miss Bessie Corey. Troutman spent the weekend at Murrells Inlet. Miss Nancy Troutman and Jean Troutman left Sunday for Louis- burg College, where both will be members of the freshman class. Mr. and Mrs. Dighton Fiddner and sons, Mac and Johnny, of Landis, visited his mother, Mrs. John Fiddner, Sr. Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wilson and daughter. Miss Linda Wilson, of Chapel Hill, were weekend I guests of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Odum. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Sterling and children, Patricia and Seth, Jr., of University Park, Md., are spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. Mittie Wallace. Miss Patricia Sterling will go to Mere- deth College on Wednesday, where she will enroll for the year. John Fiddner, Jr. of Hampton, Va. came down Tuesday for the day with his mother, Mrs. John Fiddner, who accompanied him home for a visit. The Laguna Co. U. McIntosh Of Lakeview Held Funeral services for John Rob ert McIntosh, 55, of Lakeview who was found dead Monday morning near his place of busi ness in Vass, were held Tuesday at 4 pm at Union Presbyterian Church, between Vass and Car thage, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. H. L. Wilson. Burial was in the church cemetery. . A native of Moore County, Mr. McIntosh was owner and opera tor of McIntosh’s service station in Vass. Surviving are his wife, the former Ellen Oldham; three daughters, Mrs. H. Hershel Hughes of Southern Pines and Mrs. Tommy Garner and Miss Estelle McIntosh, both of Lake- view; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Hardee of Vass and Mrs. John Schutte of Southern Pines; and four brothers, Walter, Colon, and James, all of Vass, and Armour, of High Point. Mr. McIntosh’s body was found Monday morning, behind his ser vice station. The death was as cribed to natural causes, by Moore County Coroner W. K. Carpenter of Pinebluff, after ex amination by a pathologist estab lished that death had occurred at least eight hours before the body was found. Rites Held For Wade Smith, 67, Funeral services for Wade Smith, 67, of near Vass, who died Saturday, were conducted Mon day at 2 p.m. at the Vass Church of God by the Rev. James A. Fair- cloth. Burial was in Johnson’s Grove Cemetery near Vass. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Willie Lane Smith; one daughter, Mrs. Millie Holder of Cameron, Route 1; three sons, James W. of New Orleans, Harvey J. and Clyde E. Smith of Vass; one brother, Hume Smith of Carth age; three sisters, Mrs. Jack Nall of Carthage, Mrs. Grover Mashburn of Vass, Mrs. Myrtle Ford of Sanford; and seven grand children.
