As always, the churches of Aberdeen helped to center the thoughts of their community on the true meaning of Christmas. First Baptist Church had spe cial Christmas music on Sunday evening before Christmas and the annual Christmas party for the children on Wednesday eve ning before Christmas. Page Memorial Methodist Church highlighted their serv ices of worship during the Ad vent Season with music especial ly adapted for the season. Bethesda Presbyterian Church held its annual Joy Gift service on Sunday afternoon before Christmas with a lovely service in Scripture and Song. Following this, the entire church family gathered in the Fellowship Hail for a sandwich supper, with cake and punch provided by the Wom en of the Church. The children and youth choirs then went car oling in the community and the hospitals. A Christmas morning service was held at Bethesda Fri day morning. Holiday Guests Guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Norris during the holidays were the Rev. and Mrs. Curtis More- head and children of Hudson; Mrs. Emma Storey of Ports mouth, Va., Mrs. Ruth Huffman of Hickory, and Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey Norris and children of Greensboro. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Merrill and Marsha spent Christmas Day in Saluda with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Merrill. Dr. and Mrs. Luther Taft and Michael of Chapel Hill were guests of Miss Dorothy McNeill and family a few days this week. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Marks and children of Spring Lake are holi- day visitors of Mr. and Mrs. M B. Pleasants. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Edge of Fredericksburg, Va., arrived Tuesday evening for a few days with his parents.
