O’Neal has rented for a year and moved into the apartment at Tassel Pines, home of Mrs. Galpin Cook who is pres ently living in Nice, France. Results Given Of 3 Country Club Events Following are results of tour naments played last week at the Pinehurst Country Club, but not included in the pre-Christmas is sue because of an early deadline. Tin Whistles Club A. Carl Moser and Robert M. Pearse scored 30-32-62 to take top prize in the stroke play, bet ter ball of pair event completed Monday by 36 Tin Whistlers. Tied at 65 for runner-up spot were: William C. Harris and Clarence L. von Tacky, 31-34; and Mercer C. Hufford and son, Joel C. Hufford, 32-33. Silver Foils Club Last Tuesday’s best selected 12 holes, six each nine, tournament, with an entry of 15, finished with a tie for top honors between Mrs. William C. Harris and Mrs. John B. von Schlegell, both scoring 20- 24-44. Non-Residient Event Mr. and Mrs. Ben B. Poblocki of West Alliss, Wise., were win ners of the special non-resident members’ individual stroke play events for the week of December 14-18 Mrs. Poblicki scored 108-25-83 to lead the women’s entry. Rudel, who is a pa tient at Moore Memorial Hospital following a fall, were her son, Thomas R. Rudel of New York City, and her grandson, Dan Smith, a student at Princeton University. Wiley Barrett this week re turned to Elkin with his brother. Bob Barrett, Jr., for a short visit. Bob spent Christmas with his parents here. Holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Tomlinson on Midland Road are their sons, Edward, a student at Harvard Law School, and Peter, who attends Princeton University; also Edward’s fian cee, Miss Elizabeth Hardesty of Baltimore, Md. byterian Church, officiated at the ceremony, held at the home of the bride’s aunt and uncle, Sgt. and Mrs. Dillard Southers. After six months’ service with the National Guard, the bride groom, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Garrison of Pine hurst, is employed at the Caro lina Hotel. The bride is a senior at the Pinehurst High School. The couple is living here. A reception for about 25 guests followed the wedding ceremony, which was held in the den in front of the fireplace. Decora tions of red and white carnations were used in the den and in the dining room, where the reception was held The bride, who was escorted by her husband-to-be, wore a floor length white satin gown, a finger tip veil of illusion, and carried red sweetheart roses. She design ed and made her wedding gown. Her attendant; Miss Nancy Lea of Pinehurst, wore a dress of green satin and carried a nosegay of red and white carnationss.
