Th^'elementary, Junior High and Hig^ School Glee Clubs, of over 100"'voices, suppported the play with Christmas music. Highlight ing the elementary Glee Club was a solo “Under The Stars” by Frankie Goins. Jennie Blue was soloist for the Junior High and sang “He Shall Feed My Flock.” Laura Auman, also of the Junior High, sang “Rise Up, Shepherds, i and “Follow.” “O Holy Night” was sung by Janet Markham of the High School Glee Club. Climaxing the musical, was a combined singing of “Birthday of a King.” Mrs. Cohn G. Spencer, Jr. di rected the glee clubs, Mrs. W. M. DEEP WELLS Sealed proposals will be received by the Sanitary District Board, Taylortown Sanitary District, Pinehurst, North Carolina, until 2:00 p.m. E.S.T., January 14, 1965 at the Taylortown Masonic Hall, Pinehurst, North Carolina for the drilling, developing and testing of two 8-inch deep wells for the Taylor town Sanitary District, Pinehurst, N. C. Each bid must be accompanied by a cash deposit, a certi fied check drawn on a bank authorized to do business in North Carolina, or a bidder’s bond, for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the Taylortown Sani tary District, as guarantee that contact will be entered into by the bidder within ten days after notification of award of the contract and that required bond will be executed. Copies of the proposal, contract, and specifications, etc., may be obtained upon application to the Engineers accompani ed by a deposit of ten dollars ($10.00). If a bonafide bid is submitted and specifications are returned, this deposit will be returned. Where no bid is submitted, and specifications are returned, charges will be made for the cost of same. The right is also reserved to hold any and all pro posals for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening thereof. , TAYLORTOWN SANITARY DISTRICT Floyd Ray, Chairman DIO,17,24,31,J7 Supper Hosts Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jackson were hosts at a covered dish supper at their home, sponsored by the Woman’s Missionary Union of the Baptist Church. Along with the supper, Christmas tree and decorations, there was also an ex change of gifts. Junior Girl Scouts The Junior Girl Scouts had a Christmas party at the meeting Friday with each girl bringing the refreshments. There was an exchange of gifts and games were played. This meeting climaxed the ac tivity for the troop for the past month in basketry, with each making a gift for her parents. Al so stars were made from news papers which were painted and beautified for Christmas decora tions. Mrs. Tarrell Graham and Mrs. Harold Wood are the leaders for the Junior Troop. Personals Mr. and Mrs. John H. McCas- kill with Florence, Susan, Ken neth and Nelson, left Thursday for a visit with her brothers, Drs. John Thurman and Blue and their families in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Archie Farmers had their family with them for the holidays: Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Farmer of Winston - Salem; the Frank Moore family of Raleigh and the Jerry Troutmans of Laurinburg. They talked with the Dr. Robert Farmer family by telephone in San Antonio, Tex. The good news frorh there was the promo tion of Dr. Farmer to major in the United States Air Force. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wood had 25 members of her family with them for dinner on Saturday. They were Miss Marie McManus and the Bowden Moore family of Red Springs. The Woods re turned to Red Springs for a long er visit with the family. On Fri day, the Woods had Christmas dinner with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Wood in Greensboro. Miss Catherine McBrayer and her sixth graders gave them selves a wonderful gift for Christmas—a set of 100 illustrated classics, which feature stories by the world’s greatest authors. Each student had the pleasure of taking a copy home and reading during the holidays. Mrs. Claude Auman had all her family—38 members—with her for dinner on Saturday. Especial ly welcome were her grandchil dren who are students and who get to visit only occasionally; George of Sanford, in Medical School at Bowman Gray; Bob at UNC Law School; Vicki of Hills boro, a senior at UNC; Mary Mac of Fayetteville, a freshman at UNC-G; and Nancy, a senior at Agnes Scott. However the two great-granddaughters, April and Cindy Gunter of Sanford, always add extra spice to the family get- togethers. Mr. and Mrs. Allan McDonald with Angus and Cary visited her parents, the Graham Lancasters, in Richmond, Va. for the holi days. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Sinclair spent the holidays in Chapel Hill wtih relatives. Misses Grace and Cora Don aldson have returned from a trip to Florida where they went down as far as Fort Myers. They visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Donaldson and Mrs. R. B. Donaldson in Col umbus, Ga. and Mr. and Mrs. Pritchard in Georgia. Mrs. E. R. Outland is spending the holidays with her sister, Mrs. Wesley Thomas, in Carthage. Christmas dinner guests of the North Lewis family were Mrs. R. B. Lewis, Miss Edith Markham, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krywolkul- sky of Chicago, Ill., and the Har old Markham family. Miss Edith Markham is visiting Mrs. John Gibson this week in Laurel Hill. With Mrs. M. L. Morris for the dinner on Christmas day were the Rev. and Mrs. Tom Burns of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and Mr. and Mrs. A1 Hunt.
