McKinley carries Rhode Island by about 17,000, a fnlling-off of 5ooo from the plurality in 1890. In Texas the Democratic State ticket, headed by Joseph 1. Sav ers for liovernor, is elected by a majority in excess of 100.00O. The Legislature is almost solid v Reinociatic and will elect Joseph W. Railey Cnited States Senator, to succeed Horace Chilton. It is estimated that the majority for State Hectors will not fall short of 175,000 and may go above that figure. Rryan carried New York City by about 25.000 majority. Me-; Kinlev carried New York State by over lOO.OOO majority. Rrvan carried Nevada by about 10 . McKinlev's majority -in Iowa will exceed 100,000. Indiana is still in the Republi can column, going for McKinlev by more than 10,000. Maryland has riven McKinley a majority of 10,000 or more. McKinley has carried Michi gan by about 05,000. New York. Nov. (. At Demo-; cratic State headquarters John; A. Many mistakes have been made. "The chief mistake was made in Kansas City when 10 to 1 was put in the platform. This money question certainly entered into the campaign in the past two we. ks more than we thought it would. It overshadowed Impe rialism and other issues.' Fights at the Polls. The election Tuesday generally passed off very quietly. There were, however, a few affrays. some resulting seriously. In Caseyviile, Indiana, a fight wasVngagcd in and man was killed and eight free one seri ously wounded. At Wilmington, Delaware, some ngroes preticipated a fight be cause a white man was ahead of them at tlu polling place. Several were wounded but none killed. In Denver, Colorado, two men were killed and four others dan gerously wounded in an election riot. Kxtra policemen quelled the riot. Spreads Like Wildfire.
