Our merchants, at leant most of them, have decided to clone their places of business next Thursday, November 20.? Thanksgiving Day?and take a dav of rest and recreation. The President of the I'nited States and the Governor of North Car olina have both issued proclama tions setting this day apart as a dav of thanksgiving and have called on the people to assemble at their respective places of worship and give thanks to the AH Wise and beneflcient Kuler of the Universe for His goodness and mercy to us. We are glad to see our mer chants take this step. It is noth ing but meet that we should turn away from business cares and worries at least one day each year and render thanks to the Giver of every good and perfect gift.
