April 14, 1909. The Johnston County Alliance. The Johnston County Alliance mot in regular session in the Court house in Smlthfield on Saturdy, April 10th, 1909. The meeting was called to order by the President, F. C. Edger ton and the usual business was tran sacted, after which subjects of great interest were discussed freely by Moses Creech, J. E. Pitman, R. W. Crumpler, F. C. Edgerton and sever al others. Owing to the busy sea son there was not as many present as we hoped to see, but the Sabs were very well represented and the reports show that the Alliance id in good shape in the county and the indications are that the order will be much stronger in the near future. We are living in a day of organiza tion and all classes see the need of organization as they have never seen it before. We hope that at our July meeting we will have a large crowd present as there will be business of great Importance to attend to. Broth er Farmer, will you take hold and go with us on to victory? l?. The farmers, are very busy plant ing corn and cotton. There was preaching at Antioch Saturday and Sunday by the pastor. Rev. Worley Creech. Misses Katie and Mary Wilder have returned from a visit to Selma. The Sunday school at Antioch iB progressing nicely. There are 107 nrolled and the attendance is very good. The young people deserve much praise for their good singing. Mr. Charley Johnson, of Moore's school house section, spent Saturday night with W. O. Hocutt. | Several from this section attended the Easter picnic at Oneal's pond. Misses Petronia Boykin and Sallle Talton have returned home from Zebulon where they spent a week with the family of Mr. R. H. Creech. Miss Mallssie Oneal recently spent a fow days with her aunt, Mrs. Red ding Richardson. Miss Ida Narron spent Sunday night with her sister, Mrs. C. W. Ho cutt, in Corinth section. Messrs. W. H. and T. D. Godwin, Arthur Narron and W. O. Hocutt were in the Corinth section Sunday. Master Tommie Narron is sick with rheumatism. Mr. and Mrs. C. YV. Hocutt spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Narron.
