Mr. Irving Grantham, of Dunn, vis ited his mother, Mrs. Carrie Gran tham, here this week. Mr. James H. Pou, of Raleigh, spent Sunday in the city with his mother, Mrs. Anna Pou. Miss lone Abell left to-day for Nashville, N. C., where she will visit her aunt, Mrs. G. N. Bissett. Mrs. Cynthia Skinner, of Oxford, came Tuesday to spend some time with her son, Mr. H. L. Skinner. Mrs. McKay, who is a trained nurse, is spending some time here, the guest of her sister, Mrs. T. H. Spence. Mr. W. M. Ives and son, John. White, spent yesterday in Raleigh with Mr. Ives' daughter, Mrs. E. O. Edgerton. Mr. W. H. Austin and little daugh ter, Margaret Lee, left yesterday ' morning for Richmond to attend the Virginia-Carolina football game. Messrs. J. H.
