CORINTH NEWS The people of this section are be ginning to get ready for farming. Miss Mae Griswold returned home from Middlesex last Sunday after spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. F. F. Strickland, who has been quite sick. Mr. M. T. Hinton, of Wendell, was a visitor in our community last Sun day. Mr. G. A. Briggs and little son Claude made a business trip to Wen dell Friday. Mr. Marvin Creech, of near Emit, was in our community a short while Thursday evening. Miss Verona Hocutt and brother, Master Newmon, went to Wendell last Saturday afternoon. Mt. J. B. O’Neal, Mr. Harry Kel ler, principal of Corinth school, and Miss Christine O’Neal, of Price’s school, went to Smithfield last Satur day on business. Rev. R. L. Hocutt was called to Antioch last Saturday afternoon to preach the funeral of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Creech’s baby who died of pneumonia. Messrs G. A. Briggs, Wade O’Neal and a few others returned home last Wednesday from a fishing trip near Kenly. They report a nice time. Mrs. Hubert Brannan still continues sick. Mr. J. D. Creech has purchased a new mule. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hocutt went to Wendell on business last Monday. Mr. and' Mrs. L. F. Murphy and children, of Kenly, were week end visi tors to our vicinity last week. Mr. Dell Glover, of Rocky Mount, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Glover, for a few days. Mr. Exum Baker, of Wendell, de livered a very interesting address to the people of Corinth last Sunday. Mrs. Bryant Eason and children, of Archer, spent Sunday with Mrs. Eason’s mother, Mrs. W. 0. Griswold. Messrs R. L. Wall and Claiborn Raines of Middlesex spent the week end in our burg. Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Briggs went to Smithfield last Saturday on business. U.t of Corinth church went to Wendell Sunday night and gave a program which everyone enjoyed very much. We are glad to see the young peo ple take so much interest in the church w rk. Mr. Eunice S. Hocutt and Miss Tva Hocutt, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Oneal and Mr. Willie Wheeler, went to the Capital City last Thurs day and were married. Street Jones and Waverly Jones, of Pine Level, spent Sunday with Elder and Mrs. J. A. T. Jones. Mrs. Claude Goodwin and children, of Raleigh, spent Sunday with Mrs. B. B. Johnson Jr. Mr. F. J. McCullers, RFD 1. REPORTER. PLEASANT GROVE NEWS Mr. Walter Dixon, a student of Buie’s Creek has been at home for several days on account of the sick ness and death of his mother. He is now on the sick list himself. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Matthews, of Coats, visited at the home of Mr. C. II. King recently. We are glad to learn that Mr. G. Willie Lee is able to be out again, .after a few days’ confinement at his Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ogburn visited at the home of Mrs. Ogburn’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Ogburn, near Smithfield last Sunday and Monday. Mr. W. R. Pope has recently purch ased a new five passenger Hupmobile. On Thursday afternoon, March 1st at six o’clock after an illness of only a few days, Mrs. Pennie Dixon, be loved wife of W. G. Dixon, passed away. Her funeral was preached the following day by Elder J. A. T. Jones. The interment was made in the fam ily burying ground near her home. Mrs. Dixon was a good woman. She leaves a host of friends. She leaves also a faithful and loving companion, and one son, Mr. Walter Dixon, and four daughters, Mrs. Lemmie John son, Mrs. C. T. Pleasant, Mrs. Donnie Godwin and Miss Nealia Dixon. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community. BRAGG. JERNIGAN SCHOOL NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Holmes, accom panied by Mr. and Mrs. Riley Allen, of Benson, visited at the home of Mr. J. W. Morgan Sunday. Mrs. G. W. Lee and little daughter, Myrtle, from the Long Pine section, spent Wednesday with Mrs. Lee’s father, Mr. J. D. Young. Miss Clara Young spent part of last week with her sister, Mrs. G. W. Lee, in the Long Pine section. Mrs. J. M. Adams and Miss Eliza beth Cabe visited at Mr. J. G. Ray nor’s, in the Beasley Grove section Saturday. Miss Belle Jarvis and Mrs. Mary Runge, of the Beasley Grove section, spent a short while at the home of Mf. J. W. Adhms Sundays. Misses Nicy and Anna Adams from the Long Pine section, spent a short while with Miss Elizabeth Cabe Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. John West of near Benson, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. W. W. West. Messrs Charlie B. Lee and Leander Johnson, from near Peacock X Roads, spent a few hours in our section Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Ira B. Raynor from Benson, passed through our burg Sun day.
