Ask Governor To Back Stringent Game Laws Dr. William Hornaday, noted nat uralist and chairman of the Perma nent! Wild Life Protection F'und, of New York, has written Governor Mc Lean urging the passage of the bill at the' present session of the General Assembly making large reductions in hag limits on all game in this State. “In the sane conservation of the kiliable game,” D-. Hornaday stated in his letter, “your leadership is now urgently needed. The migratory and non-migratory game of our na tion,—and of every State, without «ne single exception,— now is about to be smothered and blotted out by overwhelming grand armies of hunt ers, automobiles, machine guns, nat ural enemies and drainage industries. This you undoubtedly already know. “The answer to this deadly situa- j tion is: (1) big reductions in bag i limits and open seasons; (2) much more effective law enforcement: (3) more sanctuaries, and (4) systematic and widespread feeding of game.” Prominent among the members of : the Permanent Wild Life Protection Fund are George Eastman, Henry Ford, John D.
