Departed this life, in Halifax town, rn Tuesday night 20th ult. after a pain ful illness of near five months, leav ing two lovely sons, one two years, and the other only two months old, Mrs. Susan Si?n?nons, wife of James Sim mons, Esq. She possessed all the vir tues that are necessary to render a hus band happy, retain the affections of her relatives, and gain the esteem of her ac quaintances. In the death of this wo man it may be truly said, that a husband is bereft of one of the best of wives, two small children of the most affectionate mother, and servants of the kindest mis tress. She was quite resigned to death, and said but a few moments before her departure, that she wished to die and go to rest. "The voyage of life's at an end, The mortal affliction is past; Tho age that in hcav'n she'll spend, forever and ever shall lust." 'Have you felt a spouse expiring, In your arms, before your view: "vVatch'd the lovely soul retiring, From the eyes that break on you. Did not grief then grow romantic, Having on remcmher'd bliss; Did you not with fervor frantic, Kiss the lips that felt no kiss. ih rror then your heart congealing, C'hill'd you w ith intense despair; Can you recollect the feeling No, there was no feeling there. From that gloomy trance of sorrow, When you woke to pangs unknown; How unwelcome was the monow, l'or it rose on you alone. Sunk in self consuming anguish, Can the poor heart always ache; No, the tortur'd nerve will languish, Or the strings of life must break. While the wounds cf wo are healing, While the heart is all resign'd, ' Hsthe solemn feast of feeling, Tis the sabbath of the mind. I'cnsive memory then retraces Scenes of bliss forever fled; J-ives in former times and places, Holds communion with the dead." Notice.
